12-Month Gadget Protection
Every device purchased on Gadgetry City comes with a 1-month warranty that protects your device from manufacturing defects, electrical, & mechanical failures. Gadget Protection is an optional service which protects your device from accidental damage for up to 12 months after you received your order.
Policies:
1. What are the coverages of my policy?
Your coverage under this insurance product will include the following:
- Accidental damage (unexpected damage due to phone drop etc)
- Liquid damage
- Screen damage
2. Who is eligible to purchase this Insurance?
This product can be purchased on Gadgetry website along with the purchase of the device in Gadgetry
3. Where can I find my policy number?
The policy number can be found on the upper left part of your Electronic Certificate of Cover. The ECOC is sent to your registered email address once your purchase is completed.
4. Can I own multiple policies?
Yes. You may purchase multiple policies maximum of three (3) policies but the coverage is limited to one policy per item only.
5. Can I purchase a policy for someone else?
No. Only the device owner can purchase a policy/ies for their own devices.
6. How can I change the details of my policy?
You may send an email request to cs.ph@iglooinsure.com. Please note that only customer details on the policy can be changed provided with the supporting documents.
Cancellations & Refunds:
Can I cancel my policy?
No. The policies cannot be cancelled.
Claims & Reimbursement:
1. How can I file a claim?
You may file a claim at this link.
2. How to calculate my claim amount?
The computation of claim amount will be based on the max coverage amount (device purchased price).
Repair Cost (within max coverage amount only) – Deductible: 10% of repair cost (min of 500 php) / Total reimbursement
3. Is there a time limit for submitting a claim?
You must submit a claim no later than 48 hours from the incident date of the damage.
4. Why is my claim rejected?
Your claim can be rejected due to the following reasons:
- Incomplete documents submitted
- Invalid or conflicting detail/s and document/s were provided.
- Scenarios are not covered by this policy.
An email and a notification will be sent regarding the result of your Claim Request. The reason for rejecting the request will be also indicated.
Welcome to the Gadget Protection service (“Service”) provided by Gadgetry City Inc. and underwritten by Etiqa Life & General Assurance Philippines, Inc. (“Etiqa”). Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before using, purchasing and/or activating the Service in your Gadgetry account so that you are aware of your legal rights and obligations with respect to Gadgetry.
The use of the Service is subject to the Gadgetry Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions form part of the Gadgetry Terms of Service and should be read together.
These terms and conditions, including the additional terms of service and policies referenced herein constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Gadgetry City Inc. (“Gadgetry”, “we”, “our” or “us”), (“Gadget Protection Terms and Conditions”).
By purchasing the Service, you give your irrevocable acceptance of and consent to the Gadget Protection Terms and Conditions.
We reserve the right to change, modify, suspend or discontinue any portion of the Service, temporarily or permanently, at any time, without notice to you or giving any reason. Your continued use of the Gadgetry platform shall be deemed as an irrevocable acceptance of the Gadget Protection Terms and Conditions and any such revisions. We reserve the right to refuse to provide you access to the Service for any reason.
If you do not agree to the Gadget Protection Terms and Conditions, please do not purchase the Service or use the Gadgetry platform. You agree that you are not permitted to cancel the purchase of the Service after the delivery of the eligible electronic device (i.e., completion of the order as shown on the Gadgetry platform).
Term of the Service
The provision of the Service shall be for a term of twelve (12) months from the date of delivery of the eligible electronic device (i.e., confirmation of delivery of order on the Gadgetry platform), unless the Service is no longer applicable to you or earlier terminated by us by written notice for whatsoever reason (“Service Period”).
Scope of the Service
You agree that the Service applies to new eligible electronic devices purchased from the Gadgetry platform only and covers circumstances where such electronic devices suffer partial or total damage due to accidental physical impact, accidental spillage of liquids as well as fire events.
The coverage of the Service is limited to the repairs or replacements or cash compensation of eligible electronic devices performed in the Philippines and eligible electronic devices that are purchased and used in the Philippines.
The aggregate Service cost for repairs, replacement and/or cash compensation of the electronic device during the Service Period, including, but not limited to, diagnostic and labour costs, shall not exceed the purchase price of the electronic device paid by you (“Maximum Service Value”). For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, reference to “purchase price” shall mean the net price of the electronic device after the seller and/or Gadgetry discounts (excluding any Gadgetry points and/or vouchers) have been applied to the price of the electronic device.
Service Benefit
Subject to the claim request being approved and the Service cost being equivalent to or below the Maximum Service Value, the Service shall cover the repair cost of the electronic device and where it is determined at our absolute discretion, that the electronic device cannot be repaired or is beyond economical repair, we shall replace the damaged electronic device with the same device if available, otherwise a like kind, quality and specifications. Any damaged electronic device which was replaced shall become our property. The replacement value of the electronic device will be based on the actual value of the electronic device prior to the occurrence of the incident causing accidental and/or liquid damage to the electronic device after taking into account and deducting the proper depreciation from the replacement value of the electronic device.
You agree and acknowledge that due to technological advances, the replaced electronic device (if any) may be of a lower retail value than the damaged electronic device. Further, you acknowledge and agree that any replacement parts, shall at our absolute discretion, be new, original or non-original manufacturer’s parts that conform to factory specifications. We do not guarantee or make any promise relating to the nature of the material, workmanship or performance of the repaired electronic device or the replaced electronic device.
You shall pay an amount equivalent to 10% of the repair cost of the electronic device paid by you for each claim request that is approved (“Deductible Amount”) and such Deductible Amount shall be paid to Igloo (as defined below) repair shop upon collection of the mobile phone or where the mobile phone is sent to a service centre or other repair shop, such Deductible Amount shall be deducted from the portion of the repair cost that is be reimbursed to you before the remaining balance is paid to you.
Claims
The Service is limited to a maximum of two (2) approved claims submitted by you during the Service Period, subject always to the aggregate Service cost being equivalent to or below the Maximum Service Value.
You agree that the administration and the handling of the claim process for the Service shall be managed by Axinan Philippines Inc. (“Igloo”), our service provider and Etiqa Life & General Assurance Philippines, Inc. (“Etiqa”), our underwriter.
You shall submit all claims pursuant to the Service to Igloo within 90 days from the date of the incident causing damage or losses to the electronic device (“Claim Period”) and such claims shall be submitted in accordance with the claim process communicated to you on the Gadgetry platform.
You acknowledge that we and/or Etiqa reserve the right to reject any claims that are not made within the Claim Period. Further, you acknowledge and agree that any decision made in respect of your claim shall be final and binding and there shall be no right of appeal against such decision.
In the event of any occurrence which might give rise to a claim, you shall:
- take all reasonable steps within your power to minimize the extent of the loss or damage;
- preserve the parts affected and make them available for inspection; and
- furnish all such information or documentary evidence as may be required.
We shall not be liable under the Service if you do not submit:
- your claim before the expiry of the Service Period; and
- the electronic device to an authorized repair shop or service centre according to the claim process before the expiry of the Service Period.
You shall pay for any cost, including, but not limited to, labour cost and cost of dismantling of the electronic device, if the damage to the electronic device is not covered within the scope of the Service.
At all times during the Service Period, you shall keep proper records of documents, including, but not limited to:
- your internal form or checklist signed by an authorized person confirming coverage applies under the Service;
- proof of repair / replacement showing clearly the labour and parts costs; and
- the authorized repairer’s investigation report confirming the actual cause of damage to the electronic device.
Termination of the Service
We reserve the right to terminate the Service at any time if we determine, at our absolute discretion, that:
- any claim made is fraudulent or exaggerated; or
- any false declaration or statement shall be made in support of any claim, however, if the misrepresentation was careless or innocent, we reserve the right to terminate the Service and reject all claims.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Electronics Protection Terms and Conditions, we shall have the right to immediately terminate the Service without notice for any reason whatsoever, including, but not limited to: (a) when you have made a claim up to the Maximum Service Value; (b) the electronic device has been replaced; (c) there has been unauthorized modification(s) to the electronic device; (d) the serial number of the electronic device has been altered without authorization; (e) when you have made maximum number of claims allowed.
General Exclusions
You agree that the Service does not cover claims for any loss, destruction or damage caused by, arising from, in consequence of, contributed to and/or resulting from any of the circumstances (whether directly or indirectly), including, but not limited to:
- Short circuit or electric jump risk
- Theft without forcible entry, violence, fraud and foreclosure
- Pre-existing error or defects
- The damage is guaranteed by the product warranty
- The damage during shipment to customer
- Accessories attached on the electronics appliances and the likes
- War, Civil war, revolution, revolution, rebellion, insurrection, or riot, strike and civil commotion arising therefrom, terrorism
- Earthquake, volcanic eruption, tsunami
- Seizure, requisition, confiscation or destruction at the order of Government of other public authorities
- Wear and tear, rust, mold, deterioration, discoloration or similar degradation due to own nature, rats and vermin
- Inherent vice
- Radioactive, explosive or order hazardous properties of nuclear fuel materials or things contaminated by such nuclear fuel materials
- Willful misconduct, gross negligence by the insured, family living with the insured, and other people living with the insured
- Processing or similar works (i.e. unauthorized modification)
- Operation error or faulty workmanship in the course of repairing, cleaning or similar works; unless fire ensues therefrom
- Electrical or mechanical breakdown; unless as a result of accidental happening of external origin
- Fraud or embezzlement
- Mislaying, misplacing or mysterious disappearance
